Day 3
November 6
Miles: .86
Steps: 1,995
I should be working on the rapidly growing list of projects I need to complete like an updated resume for the ACVB, a presentation via Prezi for the DOT, social graphics for upcoming posts, Indeed job searches and applications...
Instead, I'm heading into Austin to attend the Texas Book Festival and cover it for my blog ATXgossip.com.
While that may not seem important at this juncture, events like this one are the key to my sanity. One of the biggest sources of my distaste for Charleston was the lack of festivals and events. Not that they never had anything going on. But, when they did, it was rarely on the scale of the activities that happen in Austin. Plus, the type of events that interest me only occurred about once every two months.
That is most definitely not the case in the ATX.
As I write this, I realize the book festival could have another positive effect on me. Usually, when surrounded by creative people, I become more creative myself.
And that brings us back to another challenge in Charleston. But let's not dwell on that.
